Texas Cork Company was founded by Dr. Breanne Harty and Susan Harty, a dynamic mother-daughter duo on a mission to make sustainable cork products accessible to everyone. With a passion for eco-friendly alternatives and a strong background in science and business, they bring the perfect blend of creativity, innovation, and expertise to the world of cork.

Dr. Breanne Harty – CEO & Visionary

Breanne is the driving force behind Texas Cork Company, bringing bold ideas, strategic vision, and a deep love for sustainability to the brand.

🔬 Scientist by Training – She holds a PhD in Genetics from Washington University in St. Louis and spent nearly a decade researching nervous system development.
👩‍🏫 Educator at Heart – With experience teaching everything from 7th-grade science to graduate-level courses, she excels at making complex topics engaging and accessible.
👩‍👧‍👧 Mom of Multiples – Her twin daughters were born just before the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020, fueling her desire to build a more sustainable future.

Susan Harty – CFO & Master of Operations

Susan is the glue that holds Texas Cork Company together. As the chief problem-solver, she takes Breanne’s bold ideas and turns them into reality.

🎓 A Lifetime of Experience – After earning undergraduate and graduate degrees from New Mexico State University, she spent 30+ years at a national R&D laboratory before retiring.
